Finally managed to finish working on my 1st zombie map. I started this map in February and managed to finish this just a few days ago. I’m not an expert in map-making/details, so sorry about the lack of exquisite amount of details.  :P

So what does this map have?
-No teleporters
-Pack a Punch
-Black ops perks (BO1 Quick Revive, and BO2 Double Tap included)
-Dogs
-Tweaked some weapons, along with certain weapons being buyable off the wall. (assuming you find them ;) )
-Bank System
-Working Train System**Press train button to reset train in order to go back**(Do NOT jump inside of the train, or get in front of the train’s path. You will get stuck!
-A train that can down you/kill you.
-Buyable Ending
-Tom’s Music Box (Features most of the zombie maps theme song.)
-Zombie Counter
-Hidden Bowie Knife
-One or two secret EE.

This map is based off of three locations in NYC, 47th-50th Street Rockefeller Center, 7th ave-53rd Street, and 59th Street-Columbus Circle. (Not 100% accurate though. I tried to the best of my abilities.)

**NOTE: To load up this map, you will have to find nazi_zombie_cocks in the mod list. Reason being was that I had a hard time trying to get the map work in the first place (took me several tries  :breakcomp: ) before I got it right. And changing the map name to the name I wanted, kept screwing things up for me so I decided to leave it as it is now. **

**Known issues**

CO-OP DOES NOT WORK
-When you die, you may spawn with no gun. To compensate, there is a buyable colt where QR is located. (Not sure whether if it’s one one gun only or buy one and buy another gun.)
-In the starting area, you can see through the road and see a few small things (nothing major really.)
-After entering the first station, some zombies will be stuck in the next area. It is easily fixed by simply buying the next debris.
-Somehow, with mule kick you get 4 guns…

he Basics: Jay was kind enough to take a basic idea I had for a map and to make it a reality using his own creative vision and expert mapping jiu jitsu. This map was birthed from my own desire for a NukeTown style map with more places to go and things to do and even some additional mystery.

What We Like: The map looks beautiful with its tropical theme being brought to life complete with fog and wind and lots of detail in many areas. The layout I feel is a great strength of the map with its narrow pathways and tight choke points as well as many ramps, ziplines and escape routes so you never feel completely trapped. It’s got a short easter egg that will require some thinking to complete as well as a mini easter egg to gain access to the PAP machine. The UGX Mod was a must for me and is a great addition to what I feel is a complete experience.

What We Didn’t Like: There was the plan to make a water tornado that would move around the map to keep players from camping anywhere for too long but it just didn’t make the cut due to time and some mapping issues. There were also some steps to the easter egg that didn’t make the final version which could have added to the adventure and replayablilty.

Final Word: I am very proud of this map and I know a ton of effort went into making this map the best it could be. It’s a heck of a lot of fun with many great areas to run around and just have a good time in. I imagine with 3 or 4 players all running around things would get pretty crazy. A big thanks to Jay for his work on this.

W1NG3D is certainly a community veteran who is also currently developing community favorites such as Infection Ward and Zombie Chernobyl.

Setting: The map takes place where the original Kniepe der Unoten left off. You are back in the same bar, but time has passed and the bar has clearly been overrun for a while.

Positives: The map is beautifully detailed, and although it is a revisiting of the original, it still has new areas that make it unique. It’s fun to notice the subtle changes in ambiance that allude to the original map, such as the crashed medic jeep in the wall – this is the jeep that circled the outside streets in the first map.

Negatives: I feel the map’s size leaves a bit to be desired. The only time you spend in the basement is the few seconds it takes you to buy Speed Cola, and you don’t go outside unless you need to turn the power on or hit the box. However, I don’t think this map advertises itself as anything more than it is, so this is at most a minor complaint. Also there weren’t any pleasant bathroom surprises from any floating heads.

Conclusion: This is a true classic of a map which has a lot of replay value and visuals. It’s unique from the first version of the map, yet brings things into balance with references to the story of the first edition of the map. There’s two versions, one with the UGX Mod and one which only features classic options.

Custom Content: 7/10
Fun Scale: 10/10
Replayablility: 10/10

The Basics:  A giant winding skatepark filled with ramps, half-pipes and zombies. Zombies are clearly not of fan of skateboarding and for that reason alone they deserve to die a horrible death.

What We Liked: The idea alone warrants a playthrough. It is fun to make your way through to the end of the map and there is even a place that you can slide all the way down to the starting area for when you get into trouble.

What We Didn’t Like: The map is very simple and lacks much replay value. There isn’t a whole lot to do and may be left wondering where the mapper was trying to go with this map because it just ends in a somewhat odd way.

Final Word: Your enjoyment of this map is going to rest solely on how much of a thrill you get out of killing zombies in a very basic looking skatepark. This map gave me the same feeling as I get with 1st gen video games, it’s fun to bust it out once in a while but my memory of it is better than it really is.

Setting:
Takes place in a Baseball Field(obviously).

Positives:

  • Has black ops guns/perks
  • Has a pretty cool wonder weapon called A Summers Breeze, which seems to turn the zombies invisible but they can still hit you
  • Has Death Machine/Wonderwaffe as a drop and you can run a lot faster with the death machine than you can on black ops, but you cant sprint
  • Has a solo load video
  • Has 2 custom perks one we have seen in a couple other maps (coupon queen) and one brand new (slug soda)
  • Has Electric Cherry from Mob of the Dead
  • Secret way to get to Pack a Punch


Negatives:

  • 4 perk only limit
  • No Buyable ending, I understand the mapper hates them but it feels like it makes the map more fun when you have a goal in mine
  • The Wonder Weapon seemed to take my Jugg away if I spammed it too much, which could get annoying
  • Not enough weapons on the walls, best one was mp40, so you had to constantly keep hitting the box which was giving me even worse weapons


Conclusion:
Aside from the Negatives this was a really awesome designed map and I loved it, I would definitely recommend playing this map if you havent yet. If you loved the first Baseball Field then you will absolutely love this map, hes taken everything great about the first Baseball Field and made it into something amazing.

Custom Zombie map based on my suspended game which didn’t made it for Ludum Dare #26.

Features implemented:
– Black Ops 2 like wall chalk fx
– Der Riese style teleporter (without linking)

– Custom player loadout when objectives are enabled (every player randomly get a weak gun from the list) (wont appear in contest version)
