*Yes the clock is a target, but it can only be destroyed by explosives.*

Update 1.1:
 I thought this update was lost since my hard drive crashed a few minutes after compiling but was luckily recovered. *Although* I did lose a ton of stuff, including the map file and basically everything I’ve done in the last 2 or 3 months, so that’s aids. There will never be another update to this map again, so if there is anything wrong with the current update, s**t. *Also it’s been a week since I’ve dealt with this map, so I have forgot a lot of the patch notes*.
-Reduced the chances of getting g_spawn again, if you still get it than just lmao.
-Reduced the prices of almost all debris.
-Major clipping issues should be mostly fixed.
-Added the Napalm Zombie.
-Had to remove 1 EE song because I was hitting the memory limit. (I know, such a loss).
-Changed the round sound (not on purpose), but now you can enjoy the MW2 level up sound from Rust on this map as well.
-Fixed pathing issues.
-Changed the entire lighting of the map to make it feel more different.
-Added in the BO3 Ray Gun.
-Probably buffed Stamin-Up.
-More stuff that I can’t remember.

*If you have the issue where you start to see through the rocks and foliage, turn off anti-aliasing in Options -> Graphics either in the main menu or with a different mod loaded.*

Description:

“Stairway to Hell” was a map that I released June/July 2015 and after initial heavy criticism from the UGX community I decided to take it down on all sites, thinking that it was for the best. After I had done this I was flooded with messages on ZM asking where the map was and demanding to get the link for it again. Ever since then the response for STH has been terrific, not only has it been awarded several high positions in “Top 10”-type lists but it has become my most downloaded and most popular map to date. I wasn’t happy with the map from its release until now. I made it in 1 week consistently, as a “challenge” map, just for fun. It turned out that the map was extremely easy so the difficulty was raised and although the map is still quite easy today, it definitely provides a very casual and fun zombies experience. This is why I wanted to create a sequel…

“Return to Stairway to Hell” is the new sequel to the original and is nearing the end of its development. The new map will have lots and lots of new features that I wasn’t able to add back in June 2015 but now I can. The goal of the map is to create something that is FUN, CASUAL and SIMPLE. To reinforce my point, this is NOT a map to be taken seriously, it is for the casual player and if you’re not a casual player then it probably won’t be for you. That was the main issue with the response for the original STH as many people argued it was too easy, too simple, not as hard-core as they’d like it to be. I understand some people will have an issue with me releasing a sequel and say it’s just “lazy mapping” or “didn’t put enough effort into it”. But in reality, I feel I am able to – with the mapping skills I have – create an enjoyable zombies experience the way I envisioned it regardless of what anyone thinks makes a good map. I’m still learning after 3 years mapping and will continue to produce well-deserved content to these amazing communities and this map will be no exception.

So, after about 7 months of work, I bring you today my new map.
If you are going to complain, yes, you can say this is a box map, more or less lol.
This map is based on the movie with its same name, CUBE (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0123755/). I really recommend you to watch it and you’ll probably understand more things about the map. But if you play the map before watching the movie, I warn you that you’ll probably see some spoilers.
Well, in the film some people were trapped inside a cube surrounded by other cubes with different colors. Then, they realized the cubes were moving. The characters had to find the way out of this labyrinth of moving cubes.
And, basically, my map is more or less the same, but with zombies, perks, weapons, etc.
This map is not prepared to do rounds; just to escape, but you can try it if you want.

v1.1 Fixes
– Fixed a bug where some doors could be paid multiple times if the player kept pressing use.
 – Fixed infinite perks glitch.
 – Fixed a missing “wall” weapon.
 – Fixed MP-40 hintstring.
 – Added missing PaP knuckle crack.
 – Improved teleporting method.
 – Made it easier to get the 6th perk slot. Shit. Just realized the code is wrong, so it has the same difficulty… Sorry.
 – Changed some weapon stats.
 – Probably fixed non solid doors and rounds not ending (not sure, can’t test that).

v1.1.1 Fixes
– Fixed jumping bug.
 – “Transparent” doors bug might be fixed (I think it had to do with the jumping bug; if not, it’s probably not fixed). :(
 – Now it’s actually easier to get the 6th perk slot.
 – Fixed some other minor bugs.

Some bugs I couldn’t fix: game crashing (can’t play 1 hour to try to find where the hell the problem is); some Infection bugs (I don’t think I’ll ever update Infection…).

After a world wide sandstorm, you find yourself in an abandoned Canadian military base. Your objectives are to fight, survive and escape.

– Recommended playing CO-OP [Way more fun]
– Specular map makes the viewhands shiny, but makes the map look better
– Some guns do not have custom camos after PAP
– Follow the objectives there quite easy ;)
– Everything in the map is intentional. Everything around the map and the weapons. Nothing is game breaking. ;)
– Do NOT turn off Power. It cannot be turned back on after.

Backlot Revisted is an update to my 2014 release of Backlot Zombies. New areas, new features, new weapons, new modes, more detail and optimization improvements.

Return to WWII for a more classic World at War Nazi Zombies experience as you slay the undead using an arsenal of weaponry that would be available during the time.
The challenge system enjoyed by many players in SOG and Backlot returns. Complete the challenges to unlock more perks, then survive the end game to beat the map.
Samantha will not go easy on you. You’ve been warned.

Dawnville Low Detail:
“This is something all mappers should do.” – various people
The same as Dawnville, except all unnecessary detail has been removed from the map. The map has been covered in fog, and anything inside the fog will not be rendered. I recognize there is a significant amount of players that use laptops/lower end computers to play custom zombies. This low detail version of the map was made in an effort to make the map more playable to those players. I’ve done all I can to increase the FPS without removing any gameplay elements, but do recognize that it will not be exactly the same experience as the normal version. If this version does not run well for you, then you may want to look into purchasing a new PC. If this is the only version of the map you can run, you still might want to look into purchasing a new PC.

Trainstation Survival:
For those of you that like to do first room challenges, this is for you. Bouncing betties, bowie knife, and an STG-44 have all been added to the wall. The mystery box has been moved to the station as well. Keep the windows boarded and don’t let the zombies in. Aim for the head and kill them quick. Survive as long as you can.

Trench Defense:
“Love it!!” – Laggin24x
Defend a small trench line against the waves of undead. There will be no retreating as we do not have cowards in the zombie apocalypse.
Obtain perks and upgrades through kills and headshots. Survive as long as you can.

Graveyard Shift:
The dead rise from their graves and now they want you to join them. Your squad sets up in the church and prepares for a fight. With a mounted MG, weapons, and ammo; you must send the undead back to their graves. No magic. Survive as long as you can. Best played in coop.

FAQS:

Q: Why do the challenge rewards cost points?
A: In Backlot you would go down and as soon as you were back up you could run around and just get all your perks back for free. This made it too easy. The price was added to prevent that and slightly increase the difficulty of the map.

Q: Why do I have to get all the parts, build the wonder weapon, then pay for it?!
A: The wonder weapon proved to be over powered during beta testing, especially for how easy it is to obtain. It was nerfed and the price was added to balance it out. In future maps the weapon is less powerful and you won’t have to pay for it after building it.

Q: It says we completed the headshots challenge, but none of us are at 115 headshots?

A: The challenge code is based off how many zombie heads you destroy/explode. If you don’t kill a zombie with a headshot, but while it’s falling before it turns into a ragdoll you destroy the zombie’s head it will count toward the challenge, but will not add it to the coop leaderboard. It does show on the solo leaderboard though.

Q: Why does the character hold pistols funny in third person?
A: In World at War, pistols do not gib (blow limbs off). In order to make pistols destroy zombie heads so they would count toward the headshots challenge, I had to tell the game that the pistols are SMGs. Unfortunately this makes the character try to hold it like an SMG, but I’d rather that than the pistols not count toward headshots.

Q: How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop?
A: I lost count. You’ll have to ask Mr. Owl.

Q: Why are the zombies so fast?!!
A: I’ve always used Verrukt sprinters in my maps, but you can disable them before starting the map if you want in the coop game settings or before choosing a map in solo.

Q: WHY DO THE ZOMBIES GRAB YOU?! ANY MAP MAKER THAT DOESN’T REMOVE THAT IS STUPID!!!
A: It’s not that I don’t know how to remove it. It’s that I don’t want to remove it. I like zombies to be a challenge.
