One of the main goals of this map was to provide a ton of things for people to do (i.e. like modern-day zombies), but only if they want to. It’s kind of similar to Gorod Krovi in the sense that it can easily be played as a more old-school zombies map – if you so choose (the wonder weapon is available straight out of the box, for example). The map itself is of a medium to large size, with each area bearing some level of significance (whether that be a perk machine, box location, easter egg step, etc.) and touting its own unique style, so that they can all be easily distinguishable from one another. In the same vein as Das Stahllabor (i.e. my previous map – three years already, wowza!), this map is once again designed to be quite challenging (I find it to be more fun when you’re actually required to look at your screen); however there will be no Widow’s Wine to save you this time! Despite this, you’ll soon find that there’s many new options available at your disposal – they only need be discovered, first…

Welcome.

After an inexplicable accident, Brutus has been stopped and drained from power by a mysterious spirit. The invasive creatures, Molded, are sent by the spirit to deter anyone who tries to resurrect Brutus and bring him back to power. Their Motif is unknown. It is your task to solve the mysteries, defeat the Molded and lift the curse that is holding Brutus away. An odd looking gate engulfed in flames prevents Brutus’ soul from escaping. Find out the code from clues surrounding the map to unlock an opening for Brutus’ soul to be awakened. Protect Brutus through a torturous onslaught.

Can you solve the mysteries and help Brutus reborn?


A simple and enjoyable spooky puzzle map, brought to you by the maker of Resident Evil – Baker’s Mansion (check it out if you haven’t already)!

TIPS


Quick Revive
look up a bit from the table with quick revive bottles. About middle of the door behind Quick Revive.
LADDERS

Ladders make a return and I have added a mantle system at the top of the ladder, so when you are at the top of a ladder (when your head just passes the platform) press the jump key/button to mantle up onto the platform. Or risk trying to climb all the way and fall to your death. Your choice.


HIGH PLACES
Watch where you fall, when you fall…don’t jump too far from the platform, the ground right below it are usually safe.


AUDIO
Sound give hints on where you should be looking or going.
Audio tracks are NOT copyrighted. No easter egg music.


MOST CUSTOM WEAPONS ARE VALUABLE/POWERFUL
Custom Weapons may be key to help you survive all the tasks.
Pack’d weapons are viable as well, if they carry enough bullets.

Sam’s Cannon: Aim at the ground to increase effectiveness and largely increase in damage. Good at killing large mobs of enemies [hint!]

Make sure to prepare BEFORE you enter the door opened by the last soulbox.

“1938” is a complete Remake of the map which started it all, “THE TOWN” from 2016. Set in the outskirts of a familiar vacant river-town, “1938” is a prequel to all of the other maps in “THE 1938 COLLECTION” (The Damned of the Moor, The Last Unity, The Damned of the Moor 2) and is the beginning of their shared storyline.

The map features large open areas ideal for training into the high-rounds, and tighter choke-points with the potential to catch players off-guard. “1938” shares its layout with the original (THE TOWN) with some minor differences to sizes and placing of some areas – with wall-buys, buyable debris, and perks mostly in their regular places.

I’ve created this map entirely within the ongoing UK Covid-19 Lockdown in order to keep myself busy, so despite it being made in only 2-3 months (previous maps take around 12) I believe that “1938” is as enjoyable and polished as any other of my previous releases – but with such a short project there is likely to be some bugs/balancing that needs addressing, so please make sure to make me aware of any concerns in the comments/discussions :^)

Europa, also known as Jupiter 2, is the smallest of the four Galilean moons orbiting Jupiter. This frozen wasteland bares home to the “Jupiter 2 Research Facility” and the Europa Pyramid Device. They thought the facility was lost forever, they thought wrong.
